I was born in Sandpoint, Idaho and grew up in northwestern Idaho. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Boise State University and went on to achieve my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis in Grief, Trauma, and Crisis from Northwest Nazarene University. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2014, and became a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) Trained Practitioner in 2015, and a TBRI® Educator in 2016. I have experience working with diverse populations including at-risk youth and adolescents in residential treatment facilities and specialize in working with children from hard places, including foster and adoptive children. I use a person-centered approach and have experience using play therapy techniques with children, adults, and families when appropriate. I am a big believer in God and His design for human relationships. My husband and I recently became new parents and we enjoy active lifestyles, especially enjoying time spent playing softball or snowmobiling, playing with my daughter and watching as she learns new skills. I look forward to incorporating TBRI with the staff and students at Elk Mountain and seeing the transformations unfold.
